Tell us about yourself and what you do!

I'm a certified life coach and I'm the owner of A Beautiful Mindset Coaching. I help women make those tough decisions around their divorce, guide them towards their post-divorce life and support them even in the early stages when they are still deciding whether to stay or leave their marriage.
I offer 1:1 coaching, group coaching and am currently putting together a virtual support group for those who need a sense of community during this tough period in their life.

How did your business begin?

My business began in 2019 as I was going through my own divorce. I realized that there was a different way to "do" divorce which required a different mindset to the "war of the roses" we often hear about. It doesn't have to be the end of the world. It can be considered a fresh start. I navigated my divorce with my head held high and I would love to encourage other women to do the same.

What's 1 challenge you've faced and how has it effected your business? What did you do to overcome it?

My biggest challenge has been to get acquainted with anything business related. I started from scratch after coming from the world of academia. I would say it may have taken me a little longer to build my business because of this. I have learned to ask for help and to be patient with myself.

What's 1 success you've had since you’ve created your business? How do you feel when you look back on it?

I think for me personally the biggest success has been that I've come out of my introverted self. Stepping out into social media and attending speaking events was very intimidating to me. I've really stepped out of my comfort zone and it has made me more confident.

What's the best piece of advice you could give someone looking to start a business?

Use social media to your advantage! It's a powerful tool to reach your ideal clients or customers (and it's free).

What's a pivot you've made in your business?

I have been more proactive and have been engaging more with my followers on Instagram which has made a huge difference. I'm able to have conversations about what type of content or coaching program is really needed so that I can create them effectively.

I have also invested in a business coach who has taught me so much about marketing, launching, and course creation.

When are you at your happiest?

I'm at my happiest when I am traveling. Visiting new places or going back to places that mean so much to me personally helps me recharge.

What do you tell yourself when things get difficult?

This is only temporary.

What’s 1 personal goal you've set for yourself this year?

To start my own podcast on dating, relationships, divorce, and co-parenting.

What's the first thing you do on a Monday morning and why?

I make a coffee and watch the news. I don't like living in a bubble so I stay informed about what is happening in the world and locally.

Where can you be found + what will you typically be up to on a Friday night?

I can definitely be found at the gym. It is a huge part of my daily routine and is something I consider therapeutic. Otherwise, I love going to dinner with friends in Hyde Park...but not on Fridays! That's when I'm at home watching Dateline!

Finish These Sentences:

My go to karaoke song is... “Don't stop believin'“ by Journey.

My signature drink is… a skinny margarita.

My go-to personal mantra is... “We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.” –Max de Pree
