4 Ways to Establish Your Brand on Instagram

Hey, girl, hey! We’re chatting on the blog today about everyone’s favorite social platform: Instagram. Of course, there are lots of ways to create great content and build engagement with your audience (and potential clients), but today we’re getting specific and talk about some real, tangible strategies you can start using immediately to grow your brand online and further establish your presence on this platform.

So! How do you make most of that IG, bay-bee?!

Take it from some of our members (including me!) on how they’re making the most of Instagram for their business & share your strategies or questions in the comments.

“I have hired Natasha of Sol Studio to run my IG. She posts 4 times a week and creates amazing stories. I do all my personal stories and a few "biz" ones, but she takes care of the first contact with my clients - then I take over. Outsourcing my IG was the best decision I've made... She has taken my business on IG to another level by connecting with my high school seniors!”

“For Project Moment Designs, I have switched from creating generic posts to ones that speak solely to my dream client- I envision how her week is, what are her new goals of the month and the words/message she is looking for through social media. From there, I create the content to be conversational and either entail a style inspo fact, open-ended question, or meaning behind a particular design. This altogether has helped me to nurture more of a consistent brand voice for my dream clients and future connections.”

“Instagram has been a game-changer for me in so many ways. Some of my IG strategies include connecting in DMs with my new followers and prioritizing video for most of the posts in my feed.

When I gain a new follower, I send her a custom message (no auto messages here!) to say ‘hey’ and start a conversation. Sometimes it ends up just being a quick hello, but other times it leads to a more in-depth conversation about her goals & how our membership could help her.

Last but not least, VIDEO! Everyone knows my not-so-secret sauce is video content! I will oftentimes choose to create a Timelapse instead of sharing a static image of something BTS. I have also been known to re-post a cute Boomerang and change up the caption to tell a different story. Speaking from personal experience, I would much rather have 300 impressions on a Boomerang than 60 likes on a photo. I can’t recommend video enough and am so grateful to have a tool like Instagram to tell our story & connect with women who are my Ideal Client.”

"When I first premiered my brand on Instagram I wanted to be ALL THE THINGS! That was not a good idea as it created more of a headache trying to incorporate everything I thought was a good idea while concentrating on the feel of the feed, how consistently to post, photography, etc. After establishing the 5 themes to stick to while creating a month’s worth of content, which was a life saving strategy, I decided to outsource my social media. That way I could see the themes come to life beautifully without me being too close to the creation process to nit-pick. Outsourcing has given way to more wonderful ideas that spoke to my original intentions but executed better and in a way that speaks to my ideal clients.”
