5 Ways Video Changes Your Brand's Game

Lights, camera, action babes! It’s time for you to get in front of the camera. If you’re not already, of course!

For the entrepreneurs who are nervous to get in front of the lens, let me reassure you that it will be a lot less scary than you think. In fact, it can be quite fun when you get used to it and know that success is inevitable when you’re putting your heart forward. Plus, the minute you start posting videos, the immediate engagement and positive reactions make it all worth the stage fright!

I could go on and on about the benefits of video, but I’ll leave it up to these four ladies including myself to encourage you to make video a strong content pillar for your brand.

"Video holds so much value when it comes to social media marketing strategy! Not only do you get to dazzle with your unique personality and let your followers get a glimpse at what it would be like to work with you - but you are also able to use your Video Viewers as a new "warm audience" when you're running Social Media ADs (this means higher conversion rates enter heart eye emoji here).

Personally, making videos fills my creative need in running my business and I love to see the DMs and comments from my followers or community as they learn new hot tips to keep in their back pocket as they grow. I didn't always feel confident in front of the camera - but I found that if I treated it like any other speaking engagement (outlining my talk, practicing in front of the mirror or doing a practice recording first) it helped me feel better about hitting record and knowing that it's good enough! I also found that if I do something silly or make a joke right in the beginning it breaks my own tension and I can flow a lot more naturally and take myself less serious."

"Using video has helped me increase my visibility and share my knowledge with potential clients.

I have always found it easier to communicate through the spoken word over the written word. By using video, I can share the information business owners need to know while allowing them to see my energy and passion behind the subject.

Using video has added to my ability to build the know, like, and trust factor. It has also led to clients and more visibility opportunities through podcasts, online summits, and in-person speaking engagements.”

“Video has been 100% a game-changer for me and the #1 strategy I’ve used to reach my Ideal Client and grow my brand online. I know it can be intimidating (I promise you I still give myself a lil’ pep tac before I go ‘Live’ on Facebook or Instagram, ha), but it is worth it every time.

A beautiful photo will garner 60 likes, but an ‘okay’ Boomerang will receive 200 impressions. I would rather the 200 impressions over 60 likes every time. If you’re new to video, add Boomerangs to your feed to start. Then try a Timelapse— the great thing about Timelapse and Boomerangs is that you don’t need to do any editing. Just up the brightness and sharpness a bit in a free app like ‘A Color Story’. Finally, give yourself that pep talk— go Live on Instagram. If you want to get better, you have to get started, babe. I’m rooting for you!”

“Using video and live video feature with my brand has helped me to connect to my clients in a more down to earth way. They get an opportunity to see how I am and it allows them to feel like they know me before they decide to work with me. My biggest challenge was to learn to go with the flow and not worry so much about my videos being perfect. My goal was to be real, not perfect anyways.”

"Listen, we all know how social media changes on a whim...the wind changes direction... and Instagram collapses haha! So I decided to make it a priority in 2019 to really focus on video marketing content for myself and for my clients. By consistently posting new video content, I have been able to grow my following, repurpose content, and truly engage with my followers DESPITE the ever-changing world of social media. Video may seem like a scary world, but once you get started, you will be hooked! The hardest part is just putting yourself out there for the world to see, and knowing that everything you produce might not "work," and that is totally ok!”
