ASKING FOR HELP

Albriana Youyoute of Albriana Shante Events

“The best investment I made in business for 2022 was a business consultant who pushed me monetize myself and create multiple streams of income. Inspired by my daughters, I created my first wedding coloring book for children. I also created my consulting firm for other event pros looking to elevate and refine their event designs. Cheers to 2023!”

“The best investment that I have made in my business this year is hiring our Director of Operations! Bringing on this role was a huge step, but it has been very rewarding. We work with a lot of clients in our social media agency and there is a lot to keep up with to keep our client experience the way it is. Our Director of Ops helps me stay in my zone-of-genius while she works on the tech and operations (my weakest area as a business owner), helps the team stay organized, and ensures the entire team is working towards our mission and vision. When you hire people who excel in different areas than you do... that's when your business will grow!”

“The best investment I made in 2022 was in hiring a business coach. It's one thing being a coach for others but it's difficult sometimes to coach yourself in your own business. That's why I hired someone that focuses on operations and offerings to help simplify and streamline my businesses so they can thrive with an updated framework that can stand the test of time. When you can't clone yourself, hire a person that closely relates to what you do - then watch the magic happen!”

Green Island, NY

“One of the best investments I made into my business this year is a project management system - Honeybook. I love the user interface design and how quickly the company comes out with the requested features. Keeping contracts, invoices, payments, and proposals in one space really keeps consistency and effortlessness when sending out to multiple clients.

This is my second business and I have learned that hiring help or paying for a service will pay itself when I can focus on getting more clients and the essential bits of what makes my business stand apart. So another investment I made is hiring Brittany of BNWE Writes to streamline the language and content on my website, along with hiring a photographer for branded photos. However, I would say that I wouldn't have done it any sooner. When you're in your first year of business, many things can change, but you soon realize what you want to keep or toss.”

Theresa Chu Bermudez of Get Out! Custom Travels

“I've invested heavily this year in attending conferences that focus on luxury travel experiences along with traveling and seeing the world in unique ways. My clients are looking for elevated vacations to destinations they can brag about, and we continue to grow our portfolio of offerings each year. The world of travel is constantly changing, so it is just as important to personally visit hotels and meet with my supplier partners face to face.

This year, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to experience a privately chartered yacht in Croatia as well as sail along the Côte d'Azur on a small ship that spends more time in port than at sea. At the latest travel conference I attended, I learned about an incredible family-owned mountain resort in the Dolomites among so many other great properties around the world. These investments of time and money have allowed my team and I to better advise our clients and give them vacations they will talk about for years to come.”

POSING FOR THE CAMERA

“The best investment I've made into my business this year was hiring a videography team. In our digital economy, video is vital and most consumers choose a service or professional based on video. I committed to batch-shooting content once a month and I know it's going to take my business to the next level!”

Erika Stanley | Mile End Digital // IG

“I took 3 weeks off from client work and invested in new branding for my business – new brand photos, messaging, logo, and website. It was SO worth it! My new brand feels authentically me, and I'm excited to move my business forward with such a solid foundation.”

“Hands down, the best investment I made in 2022 was for professional headshots and photos. Not only did the photos provide me with a fresh new look for my website and social media, they allowed me to see myself through someone else's eyes. My photographer did an amazing job of capturing my style and essence. This experience gave me renewed confidence in what I do as a clinician and a business owner!”

Parkland, FL

Shawnee O'Connell of Shawnee Rose Consulting

“That one's easy! Brand Photography with Christina Jones Photography was hands down the best investment I made for my business in 2022! Finally, having professional images that captured my personality, my brand, and the essence of my business was a game changer! It gave me so much confidence to show up on social media with pride.”

Land O'Lakes, FL

INVESTING IN THEMSELVES

Erika Holmes | Erika Vidal Holmes // IG

“The best investment I made in my business this year was taking myself on a solo CEO retreat. I ditched my husband and kids for a full weekend and focused solely on projects for my business. I ordered takeout and got so. Much. Done. I finally completed my mini course You've Got Email, which I have been working on for two years. It was so successful, that I'll be doing this on a quarterly basis going forward!”

Tampa, FL

Kathleen Ribeiro of KMS Service

“Myself, 100%. January 2022 I was in such a bad place and told myself that since I cannot find the right job, I would create it and leave my draining 9-5 job.

By May 2022, I took the leap of quitting the 9-5 and focusing solely on KMService. Now that we are coming to an end, I love what I am doing, and cannot wait to see where else I take myself and my business.”

Boston, MA

Kelly Nova of FairyTail Pet Care

“We finally invested the time & money into creating our franchise system. We officially launched at the beginning of the year & have opened 4 franchisee locations of FairyTail Pet Care. It's been an incredible way to grow our business & expand our team!”

Tampa, FL

Lauren Taylar | Lauren Taylar // IG

“The best investment I've made this year is a standing desk with a small treadmill that fits underneath. This change in the way I physically work has been incredible. I'm able to get a few miles in every day with this new setup instead of feeling glued to my chair with cramping legs. I feel more energized, alert, and accomplished since I'm able to move my body throughout the day. It's a strange feeling at first to walk and use a computer at the same time, but you definitely get used to it and I couldn't recommend it more!”
