After working on her own renovation she saw there is a lot of room to bring residential contracting up to the level of professionalism of the commercial industry and that the time was right to get her dreams off the ground and Be Design Build was born.

Tara creates timeless, bespoke spaces for everyday living in modern homes. In 2020, Tara and her husband decided to make their home on the Gulf Coast of Florida. An empowered, passionate designer with a passion for well curated, functional, fun and inviting spaces. This ethos is layered through every project, small or large, which she designs. Tara believes wholeheartedly in the power and beauty of having fun doing what you love.

MKDS, Inc. // IG. Melissa started her career in Miami with an award-winning architectural firm. She has collaborated with some of the top workplace and hospitality companies. Transitioning to the Gulf Coast and launching her own business in 2018 she channeled her love of Interior Design, nature, and travel to develop a design ethos rooted in the art of living well. Creating one-of-a-kind spaces for superyachts, private estates, and luxury developers alike, each project is uniquely tailored to the client’s needs. Every environment deserves a sense of hygge.

Lisa Gilmore Design // IG. Lisa’s creativity is fueled by color, pattern and an interesting juxtaposition of objects. She utilized her design skills at a prominent interior design firm in Chicago before returning to Florida in 2011 to launch her business. She shares her love of interior design by showcasing her unique, creative aesthetics in luxury residential environments. Gilmore’s interiors are known for being liveable spaces with a glamorous edge.

Grit + Pearl Design Co. // IG. Monica is the founding Principal for Grit + Pearl Design Co., a professional interior design company serving the Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa Florida areas. Monica has over a decade of experience consulting on commercial and residential projects all over the US, and even some internationally. She has lived in 7 different cities over that past 10 years. Monica loves exploring and traveling to gain new insights through different local communities. Monica is a huge dog lover and would totally have a farm/ranch with all the rescue animals if she could. She just purchased her first home and has the tiniest backyard, so that ranch dream is for later on in life. Monica also loves sunsets, bike rides, and sushi. Leopard print is her favorite neutral because it goes with everything.

Bee Studios, Inc. // IG. Brooke is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer (CMKBD) with the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA.org), and holds a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts from Ringling College of Art of Design. Her lifelong passion for all things art and design has developed into a career of designing residential interiors, kitchens, and bathrooms for the last 15+ years. Her attention to details and creativity combine to give her clients designs that are cohesive, colorful, and artfully curated. She is a St. Pete-based Interior Designer who loves to support her local community and is proud to own a business in this great city!

Ala'Bella Interiors // IG. Nylma is a practicing interior designer, also certified for design for ‘Aging in Place’ (CAPS) design in St. Petersburg, Florida where she lives with her Husband, Daughters, Cats (“Zoomie” and “Sparky”) and “Brutus” the 5lb chihuahua. St. Pete has been the place Nylma has considered home in addition to her Native Island of Puerto Rico and NY where she moved from 23 years ago. Nylma’s hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, community involvement, oil painting, and dancing (it’s the Latina in her). Over the years, she has been a strong supporter of Heels to Heal and Global Girls Initiative and their missions through volunteering, sponsorship and becoming a member of the board. Design has been a love of hers for as long as she can remember while also being passionate about giving back to the community. When Nylma is not taking care of her interior design clients or volunteering, you could see her spending time with family and friends from downtown to the beaches enjoying what St. Pete has to offer.
